About ratRations

Ratrations is a 3rd generation, family run business based in Norfolk. We are mainly internet based, but do have a shop that people are welcome to visit.

 Started in 1986 after leaving the world of software engineering, the parent company, Morley Aviaries, was run out of founder John Hambelton's garage until the shop premises were established at the bottom of the garden of the family home, becoming the site that we still operate from today.

 At that time Morley Aviaries catered solely to providing food and accessories to bird keepers of all types, finches, songbirds, parakeets, large and small parrots, even birds of prey.  With the dawn of the internet age the Junglegold brand and website was  established and internet sales gradually became the primary nature of the business.

 It wasn't until around 2009 that requests for smaller quantities of food started to become common as some rat keepers looked to make their own mixes to provide a better quality of food. A chance phone call cemented the idea to branch off into the world of small animal supplies and, after a lot of research and development, on April Fool's day 2010 Ratrations went live and we haven't stopped since!

 We are, as far as we're aware, the biggest company in the UK whose main focus is on rats, and we still retain the original family run spirit of the company, that every customer is just as important as those before and after, and we aim to provide the best possible quality products and service we can.
