Base Mix No3 is our most popular base mix and the one which we use for all of our Complete Mixtures. It is made using kidney friendly grains, easy to digest and perfect for elderly or poorly rats.

Ingredients:

• Paddy Rice 15%
• Whole Barley 10%
• Flaked Barley 10%
• Flaked Maize 10%
• Flaked Peas 10%
• White Dari 10%
• Mixed Millet 10%
• Buckwheat 10%
• Ratrations Seed Mixture 5% 
• Flaked Soya  5%
• Flaked Buckwheat 2.5%
• Brown Basmati Rice 2.5%

Our base mixtures are designed to be used as part of a homemade mix.  

The general ratio of feeding a Straights Based Mix such as the Shunamite or Isamu diet is:

• Base - 50% - 60%
• Processed Grains 20% - 25% 
• Protein Source 5% - 10%
• Herbs and Vegetables 5% -10%
• Seeds - 5% (already added to Base Mix 3)

A supplement should be offered once or twice a week as most homemade mixtures are deficient in Calcium, Copper and Vitamin D.

Our CaCuD3 provides these in an easy to use powder form. We have found that mixing it into yoghurt or a wet meal such as fish or scrambled egg is the easiest way to ensure it is taken.

A water based option is to use Dr.S Daily Essentials 1 along with Dr.S Calcivet liquid. This should be given alongside their fresh water.
