Superior quality nesting box made with 18mm thick pine planks to insulate against extreme hot and cold weather and to help prevent excessive temperature fluctuations during nesting and fledging. The snug fitting sloping roof has a 2cm overhang.  

Each nest box is hand made in our own workshop to ensure consistent quality. We use an environmentally friendly wood dip to help protect against the elements. We advise to repaint yearly to keep the box in good condition.

4 screws and wall plugs are provided for fixing. We offer this box with the 4 corners pre-drilled. However, you can fix to a tree or fence post by drilling holes to your own requirements or using alternative fixing methods.

Leave the box undisturbed from early spring until the box is no longer occupied.

The pop-hole box is suitable for, but not limited to, Blue Tits, Coal Tits, Great Tits, Hedge Sparrows and House Sparrows. As house sparrows like to nest in colonies we suggest hanging 3 or 4 boxes next to each other and adding more as the colony grows.   

The half open fronted box is suitable for Robins, wrens and other species who prefer a crevice type nest.

An ideal placement for nest boxes is facing between North and East to avoid the most direct midday sun.
