Small Sunflower Seeds can be fed all year from table, ground or feeder.
They are high in oil and protein. For many wild birds they are the seed of choice.
Sunflower Seeds contain a high percentage of protein and the soft outer shell makes it easier for smaller wild birds to open them.
Sunflower Seed are a source of high quality protein and oil that is particularly important during the winter months.
Sunflower Seed is very low in Cholesterol and Sodium. It is also a good source of Vitamin E, Pantothenic Acid, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Copper, Manganese and Selenium, and a good source of Thiamine.
For many captive birds sunflower seeds contain too much fat and oils and should be used sparingly especially if you are feeding a caged bird.
The quality and purity of sunflower has dropped over the last few years mainly because it is now grown for oil rather than birds. This product can have stalks and parts of the sunflower head present. It does not present any danger to the birds.
